You all know, in some way or another, a woman in need, a woman who has had a hurtful life experience and who has the desire to get her life back on track.

The Lise Watier Foundation will come to life through our determination and devotion, but also thanks to your support and generosity. Whatever your contribution, you can make a great difference in the lives of these women in need by helping them to regain confidence in themselves and in life, regain their autonomy and dignity and take their rightful place in society.

Together, we can help them be victorious.

The Watier Foundation is a non-profit organization whose primary mission is to help women in need. In order to dothat, we will establish corporate programs and fundraising events to support the activities of organizations which come to the aid of women who have had difficult pasts, lived through traumatic events or have other major problems. The vision of the Lise Watier Foundation is to encourage women to take charge of the present and build for the future. This can be accomplished through structure and support.

"The launch of the Lise Watier Foundation is a turning point in our company's existence and represents another step in our quest to bring our support to causes that we hold near and dear to our heart."

~ Anne Martin-Vachon
President and CEO

"Throughout the years, I have met many women who have had difficult life experiences. I realized some of the problems that they were facing, and this is why I have decided to get more involved and to help these women who have been less fortunate than many of us."

~ Lise Watier
President of the Lise Watier Foundation

Whether it be women who are verbally, sexually or physically abused, women dealing with addiction problems or drug abuse, women who find themselves homeless or women afflicted by a disease, they all have a story to tell. But they want to get their lives back on track and are willing to make change happen.

  • 85% of domestic violence victims are women.
  • Every year, more than 100,000 women and children are ad- mitted in shelters in Canada. The majority are fleeing an abusive situation.
  • Every day, about 1 shelter in 5 has to turn women away because they are unable to accommodate everybody who seeks assistance.
  • 1/3 of homeless persons are women.
  • There are numerous reasons behind homelessness: 80% of homeless women have been physically and/or sexually abused; 70% of them are experiencing substance abuse problems and 65% of them have physical health problems.
